Helen M. Piggott, 88, died on January 18, 2021, in South Bend, IN., where she had been lovingly cared for by her sister, Carol and brother-in-law, Earl Morgan, CNA. Born in Springfield, MA. in 1933 to the late Harold F. Milo and Marion (Adams) Milo.
Helen was the wife of the late Paul E. Piggott of Johnston, RI. where they had resided for many years.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marion T. Schmidt, of Groton, CT. and step-grandson, Chas, of Voluntown, CT.
Living children are, Vivian Schmidt Signoriono–Brown of Jewett City, CT., Robert (Sandra) Schmidt of Voluntown, CT., and Chris (Janet) Schmidt of Venice, FL.; sisters, Candace Milo (Bill) Grooms, and Carol Milo (Earl) Morgan, both of South Bend, IN.; 6 grandchildren: Chad, Hollie, Rob, Rachel, Steven, and Nicole; numerous great-grandchildren; and 9 Nieces and Nephews.
Helen was known for her quick wit, sense of humor and contagious laugh. People naturally gravitated towards her. She had the most kind heart and generous spirit, and was always praying for others. No one could tell or describe a story the way she could, causing the listener to hang on to every word. Helen loved cooking, shopping, bingo, gambling, board puzzles, collecting the most unusual gadgets, reminiscing about her “legendary” shoe room, and enjoying an occasional chocolate martini. She was immensely loved and will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at a future date,with burial at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Johnston, RI.
