Earl Jud Miller, 88, of Donnell Lake passed away peacefully with family by his side, Sunday at 2:10pm in Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville, MI.
Earl was born on October 10, 1928 to the late Thomas and Rose (Stephens) Miller. He was a United States Navy veteran and worked for many years for Wolverine Pipeline. On July 3, 1948 he married Betty Jean Finley who preceded him in death on January 19, 2011. They enjoyed traveling around the country together in their motor home. He loved living on the lake and spending time with his family and lived to be with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved helping others and never knew a stranger. He was always his nurses’ favorite.
He is survived by two daughters : Becky (Darryl) Clevenger of Vandalia and Beth Miller (Bruce Luh) of Lehigh Acres FL. He was affectionately known as Papa to his three grandchildren: Katie (Brad) Mroczek of Granger, Emily (Joe) Holt of Granger, Anthony (Jessie) Rajski of Tampa, FL and to his 6 great-grandchildren: Anna and Brady Mroczek of Granger, Judah, Ruth and Levi Rajski of Tampa, FL., and “Little No Name Holt” as Papa referred to him, who is due next month. He is also survived by one sister: June (David) Cussen of Sarasota, FL.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Delores Anderson of North Liberty.
At Earl’s request there will be no services. Following cremation at American Cremation Society in South Bend his ashes will be interred at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI next to his wife. McGann Hay Granger Chapel assisted the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions in Earl’s name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
