Dean W. Hoffman, 61, passed away February 18, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born May 18, 1955 to the late Warren W. and Roberta A. (Rehm) Hoffman.
On December 12, 1998, Dean married Kimberly N. Willis. She survives. Also left to cherish his memory are five children, Amy Hoffman Upham of Elkhart, IN, Angie Hoffman of Mishawaka, IN, Bradley Hoffman of South Bend, IN, Anthony (Zira) Rockwell of Mishawaka, and Samantha (Aidan) Vincent of South Bend; sister, Lynn Romero of Pueblo, CO; and brother, Steven Hoffman of Cape Coral, FL. Nine loving grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive him.
Dean worked at Indiana Fluid Power for over 30 years. He loved politics, outdoor grilling, gardening, and more recently growing tomatoes. He was a lifetime member of the NRA; a restorer of historic houses, a history buff, and an astute woodworker. He was a wonderful husband and father with a great sense of humor, positive energy and an infectious laugh.
Dean proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, where he was a military police sergeant. He enjoyed classic movies and the Three Stooges.
Visitation will held on Thursday, February 23, from 5-6:30 p.m., with a memorial service and military honors following at 6:30 p.m. at the McGann Hay, Forest G. Hay Chapel, 435 S. Ironwood Dr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family to help cover medical expenses.
