Beverly Anne Mackey

                            March 9, 1940 – October 11, 2018

Beverly Anne Mackey, 78, of Farmers Branch, TX, passed away peacefully in South Bend October 11, 2018.
Born in Dallas, TX on March 9, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Winfield and Opal (Veldman) Scott.
On June 20, 1957, Beverly married the love of her life, Charles Brice Mackey. He preceded her in death. Her twin brothers, Winfield and Richard Scott, also preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are: her only child, Julie (Nick) Mackey Tekler of South Bend; four grandchildren: D. Allen Edwards of AR, Jesica (Matt) Giles of South Bend, Stephen Tekler of Indianapolis and Jared Tekler of South Bend; her granddaughter-in-law, Kayla Edwards; and four great-grandchildren: Arianna, Cristina, David and Lacey Lynn.
Beverly was a caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and led a wonderful example of what a close and loving family should be. She was kind and witty and enjoyed Western Movies, ballroom dancing, butterflies and Moose. Beverly’s father nicknamed her “Butterfly” at a young age, which is why through her life she grew so fond of them. Brice, her husband, lovingly nicknamed their family “Moose.” He was “big moose, Beverly was “middle moose”, and referred to Julie, and her children, as “little moose” and her great- grandchildren “tiny moose”. She always made sure to let those around her know how much she appreciated them. She taught her family how to love, care for, and always be there for each other, through not only her words, but her actions throughout her life. A devout Jehovah’s Witness, she praised Jehovah and served Him daily. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall in Farmers Branch, TX, and attended meetings at the Roseland Congregation, as well as Miami Trails Congregation while in South Bend. She will be dearly missed by her friends, and family.
